A Unique Yoga Studio with a Mission
A vibrant studio in Clinton Hill offers unique classes for the community and a new collaboration with Child’s Play NY
Greene Moments Studio is a gem in Clinton Hill, a warm space exuding the passion and care of its managing director, Ngone Mbaye. I loved learning more about what makes this business unique and the backstory for it’s inception. Small business owners get to learn from her experience and insights and you get an inside look at what makes this such a special place.
With the upcoming collaboration of Child’s Play NY campers at the Greene Moments Studio, we wanted to share this with our readers!
The Scoop on Greene Moments Studio
Jocelyn: Tell me a little bit about Greene Moments Studio? What kinds of classes do you offer and what sets you apart?
Greene Moments Studio is a space created with love and intention to foster wellness, movement, and community. We offer a variety of classes, including yoga for all levels, sound baths, Kenetic yoga, and special movement workshops. Since 2017, we have also been hosting yoga classes in collaboration with KEEN (Kids Enjoy Exercise Now), a nonprofit that provides free programs for children and young adults with disabilities. Through these classes, we create an inclusive space where kids with special needs can experience the benefits of movement, relaxation, and mindfulness.
This is a space where people can move, breathe, and be seen—whether they’re new to yoga or longtime practitioners.
What sets us apart is our deep commitment to holistic wellness, cultural connection, and inclusivity. We also collaborate with artists, healers, and educators to bring unique offerings that nourish both body and soul.
Owners as Educators
Jocelyn: I know you have a background as an educator yourself. Tell us more about that and the classes you do and have offered young people here.

Yes! Education has always been a core part of my journey. I’ve taught yoga and mindfulness to young people, helping them develop tools for self-awareness, confidence, and stress relief. We’ve hosted kids’ yoga, movement workshops, and cultural storytelling sessions. Since 2017, we’ve also partnered with KEEN (Kids Enjoy Exercise Now) to offer yoga classes for children with special needs. It’s been incredible to witness how movement and mindfulness can positively impact their confidence, relaxation, and overall well-being.
Our upcoming collaboration with Child’s Play NY is especially exciting because it merges play, movement, and storytelling in a way that’s so beneficial for kids.
Jocelyn: What fuels you as a small business owner?
Passion, community, and resilience. Owning a studio isn’t just about running a business—it’s about creating a space where people can heal, grow, and connect. I’ve had my share of challenges, but the love and gratitude I receive from students and collaborators fuel me to keep going. Seeing people walk out of a class feeling lighter, stronger, or more at peace reminds me why I do this work.
Greene Moments Studio Vibe
Jocelyn: The studio is gorgeous with so many thoughtful details—aesthetically (like that cool curtain) and functionally (a projector!). What was the design inspiration behind creating the space as you did?
I wanted Greene Moments to feel warm, inviting, and inspiring. The design blends elements of nature, African heritage, and modern functionality to create an environment where people can truly exhale. One of my favorite elements is the live plant that hangs through the skylight, bringing in natural greenery and a grounding energy to the space. Plants enhance the air quality, create a sense of calm, and remind us of our connection to nature, even in the middle of the city.
Everything in the studio is intentional, from the lighting to the artwork, creating a sanctuary where people can disconnect from the outside world and reconnect with themselves.
Another special touch is our little boutique at the check-in desk, where guests can find carefully curated items—from yoga mats to unique home goods, clothing, and souvenirs from Senegal. It’s a way to bring a piece of our cultural retreats into the studio, allowing people to connect with the beauty of African craftsmanship while supporting small artisans.

The curtain adds softness and flow to the space, while the projector allows us to incorporate visual elements into our workshops and events. Looking to the Future
Jocelyn: What are you looking forward to in the years to come for the studio?
I see Greene Moments evolving into an even bigger hub for holistic wellness and cultural exchange. I’m excited about expanding our teacher training programs, deepening our collaborations with artists and healers, and bringing more community-focused events to the space.
We’ve also been hosting cultural and wellness retreats in Senegal once a year, offering people a chance to immerse themselves in African heritage while engaging in self-care and personal growth. In the coming years, we plan to offer these retreats more frequently, creating more opportunities for people to experience wellness beyond the studio walls.
I also want to continue making wellness accessible—whether that’s through sliding-scale offerings, more French-language classes, or international retreats that bridge cultures and healing practices.
